12.29.11 : Eve Is Preparing To Blow Your Mind All Over Again In 2012
Comments: None
Who is Eve? She is a Grammy Award, NAACP Image Award, and MTV Video Music Award winner who has garnered over 20 nominations for her music, acting, and work both within and outside of the entertainment industry. All of which was accomplished in a seven-year period.
We can never forget that she was and always will be the “first lady of Ruff Ryders.” Yet her last album, EVE-Olution, was released 10 years ago, her last film role was in 2009, and other than a few guest verses here or appearances there, it is safe to say that she’s been missing from the Hip-Hop world. Fast-forward to now, and things have changed. Eve is in the process of finishing her fourth studio album, she just wrapped a new film, still has her hand, or should we say, foot, in the fashion industry, and is preparing to release her first two books. All of this, and more, is on tap for 2012.
AllHipHop.com spent some time talking to the beautiful Philadelphia native as she vacations in London for the holidays about a number of things, including the long and bumpy road to her new album, her thoughts on Nicki Minaj, female rappers, and the state of the current musical landscape. Eve also gave us a sneak peek into some of her other ventures and endeavors. Read all about it below:
AllHipHop.com: Hey, Eve, how are you doing?
Eve: Good. I’m in London right now. How are you?
AllHipHop.com: Good, thanks. So, I have to ask about you and your music. Where is your musical state of mind at right now?

05.31.11 : Eve Speaks On Nicki Minaj & Lil’ Kim Beef, New Album
Comments: 2
Nicki Minaj and Lil’ Kim have been sparring for a minute, and Eve doesn’t like it. The “Pit Bull in a Skirt” weighed in on the war of words between the two MCs, explaining that Kim needs to stop fueling the fire and instead focus on bettering her career.
“I need her to stop. If I was Kim’s friend, I’d be like, yo. Because she’s Kim, period. So she never has to feed. She shouldn’t,” she told BBC Radio 1Xtra. “It’s bad. It’s not a good look. If I was her friend, I’d tell her, yo, just come back bigger and better. The best way to get at people is to do you better than you’ve ever done you. So that’s it.”
She also gave props to Nicki for holding it down for the ladies in the rap game. “I love it. You know, it’s definitely a nice group of females that’s out representing, but because I come from hip-hop, I need more females in hip-hop,” she continued. “Nicki definitely is holding the flag down, and a lot of people be wanting me to hate just because that’s how girls supposed to do in hip-hop, but I’m loving everything she does. But we need more females, man. There’s too much testosterone in the hip-hop game.”
The Philadelphia, Pennsylvania native gave an update on her oft-delayed album Lip Lock, revealing that she’ll be dropping her new single “Mama’s in the Kitchen” featuring Swizz Beatz in the next few weeks.
“I did another record called ‘Mama’s in the Kitchen’ with Swizz that is ridiculous. In the next couple of weeks, I’ma let this burn for a minute and then I’m going to drop that record,” she said.
She is also working with Salaam Remi on the album and is five songs away from completing the album. “I’m working with Salaam Remi, who if you know music, Salaam is major, major, major,” she said. “I went in with MSTRKRFT, I don’t know if people know who MSTRKRFT are, I went in with them. I’m busy. I got like five more records to do and then I’m done with the record.”
04.12.10 : Kelly Rowland and Eve to perform at Wayville showground
Comments: None
QUEENS of the RnB scene – former Destiny’s Child member Kelly Rowland and rapper Eve – are ready to raise the roof at the Wayville Showground tonight.
Performing as part of RnB festival Supafest, the duo, who arrived in Adelaide yesterday, plunged straight into rehearsals with Rowland admitting she’ll have little time for sightseeing.
“Between rehearsals and making the show perfect, you don’t get much time. Hopefully I’ll put on a good show and be invited back,” Rowland said.
Moving from the RnB scene into a stronger dance territory for her next album – which she’s in the throes of recording – Rowland said the audience at tonight’s Supafest should expect a powerhouse show.
“Nothing but dance – a full non-stop energy show. I’m very intimate with the crowd. I like to look at the crowd and have fun,” Rowland said.
